What’s in the glass?
Glasses up! It’s #sippinsaturday … and it’s time to do a quick #blindtasting
Not knowing what to expect, the waiter is waiting to serve other customers, so time is scarce. Still need to find time to run through the tasting notes I learned at #WSET.
(ps, not sure how to select a wine in a restaurant, get some tips here)
Here we go:
Appearance: straw yellow color with greenish shades. Clean & bright
Nose: Medium: high intensity. Notes of aromatic herbs, mint, citrus fruit, pears (shoot prob I will need more of these characteristic, but time is ticking)
Palate: round, fat and very fruity with a nice acidity. An elegant, subtle, modern, mineral and fresh wine. Same flavors like on the nose - aromatic herbs, mint, citrus, tropical fruit (lichies), water pear, apple. Overall a well-balanced acidity with a good aftertaste.
Albarino it is! Yes, I have it right 💪!
And yes, I am that geek that afterwards quickly do a Google search for the wine & label.
What I found: ‘Nai albarino galicia calidade’.The woman stands tall with her ponytail fluttering in the wind, symbolizing her empowerment, and next to her there is a butterfly, embodying her freedom. Love it. Give me empowerment in that moment.
Let’s do it, and enjoy the evening ! 💪🍷
#BrasserieMijnStreek, in #Heerlen, cozy and informal atmosphere, and listed as a Bib Gourmand. They work with products from the region, and work by the rhythm of the seasons. Can recommend it.
Cheers 🍷
