"A strong woman looks a challenge dead in the eye and gives it a wink.” — Gina Carey
I love this quote! I decided in September 2022 to take the last challenge in my Wset4 course, and today I am learning for the #WSET level 4, D2 = #Wine&Business. This is one of the last weekends before the big day. That means it's time to get the wine business part in order.
We all know the usual suggestions - supply, demand, retailer, horeca,.. While learning all these terms, in my glass, a lovely wine of #Sicilia, The "#Sherazade".
This red grape, Nero D'Avola with its numerous varieties is the oldest native red wine variety in the region and has always been the base grape variety for the most well known of all Alto Adige red wines, the Lago di Caldaro (Kalterersee) Wine.
👀 A brilliant ruby red color with violet reflections
👃 Notes of plum and cherry combined with a fruity bouquet. Some spicy hints (black pepper) and balsamic notes.
👅On the palate we find the dark fruity notes; it is soft and supported by an excellent freshness. Medium and well-integrated tannin.
A good value priced wine, that brightens your day in a pleasant and original way.
Reading about the label, it is exactly what I needed today!
Sherazade, fascinating female protagonist of the Arabian Nights has a fruity flesh voice, wrapped in a spicy drape, that tells you the fairy tale of this masterpiece of Oriental literature. An intensely Mediterranean label in lush Donnafugata style that gives you an unforgettable tasting.
I'm telling you - knowing the story behind the label, and you'll be channeling all the comforts and deliciousness of the wine exam day.
Have a nice Sunday everyone. I hope you find a moment or two of blissful distraction. (And maybe I should study a little today. 😬🤓
