Pop, fizz clink: Let's tack Champagne

Yes, I admit it—I’m a sucker for Champagne too! 🥂

I recently went to a wedding at a stunning French domain, and naturally, they were serving their own homemade "champagne" under a private label. Of course, I couldn’t resist asking, “Which grapes did you use?”

The response? “Just white grapes.”Hmmm... interesting. 🤔

Now, as much as I love a good bubbly, that answer got me thinking—it’s time to dive deeper into what really makes Champagne, well, Champagne. Spoiler alert: it’s a lot more complex than just “white grapes.” From the blend of specific grapes (hello, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier!) to the precise methods that give Champagne its famous sparkle, there’s a world of detail that goes into each bottle.

So if you’ve ever wondered what sets Champagne apart from the rest of the sparkling wine crowd, stay tuned. I’ll be breaking down everything you need to know about those magical bubbles—what grapes are actually used, the traditional method, and why true Champagne can only come from one special region in France. 🧐✨

Follow along for more wine education! I’m diving into the world of sparkling wines, and this bubbles breakdown is going to be worth every sip!
