Turning my attention back to my first real wine country love - South Africa! So many reasons to be excited today! As it is also national #syrah day today 🍷🤩
Today I am opening a great one from a great local importer of South African wines into Belgium: #Elvama.
The Holden Manz Reserve Syrah 😋!
Happy to tell you so much more aobut this lovely wine:
👀A deep dark violet color
👃 Nose: intense ripe notes of spices and dark fruits
👅 Palate : a rich, complex bouquet. A full bodied red wine. The spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg are surrounded by a hint of dried violets and undertones of wild strawberries provide a fruity component. Notes of ripe dark berries and spices, especially black pepper is present. Integrated tannins, with a long lasting finish.
This powerful red wine is made of 100% shyraz grapes which was matured in oak for 22 months. It is a limited red wine, as only 2932 bottles were produced. The wonderful winery Holden Manz is located between Franschhoek and the Stony Brook River. The talented winemaker Thierry Haberer is responsible for the first class quality of wine production but it is also the fertile, clayey soils of the region that guarantee fantastic yields.
Stay safe, love hard and sip well!
