Bouvet Trésor Blanc Brut Saumur - France

"she wasn’t where she had been. She wasn’t where she was going, but she was on her way.” — Jodi Hills

You didn’t think I’d miss a #fridaysparkles did you? 😘

Bouvet Trésor Blanc Brut is a go-to for me. A charismatic crémant that can outshine many a Champagne. Vinification of the Saumur AOC by Bouvet-Ladubay.

The Bouvet Trésor Blanc Brut Saumur AOC is the first Crémant from the house Bouvet-Ladubay, which is matured in wooden barrels.

👀 In the glass, a straw yellow and a long-lasting and very fine perlage.

👃 The bouquet  unfolds aromas of brioche and citrus. Brioche, ripe apple, Honeydew melon and Lemon

👅on the palate this opulent Crémant shows a creamy, full-bodied texture and balanced tannins due to the wood aging, carried by a pleasant, fresh acidity. The finish is pleasing, fruity and long.

Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay are vinified together in a cuvée for this elegant French vintage sparkling wine from the Saumur wine region in the Loire Valley. After fermentation, the base wine is aged in wooden barrels before being aged on the fine lees using the classic method of bottle fermentation.

The origins of Bouvvet-Ladubay are linked to its cellars in the tufa caves, a treasure which, according to legend, was created by the monks of the Abbey of St.Florent in the 11th century and discovered by Etienne Bouvet. At the end of the 80s, the cellar master Patrice Mommusseau brought this treasure to the public by creating the "Trésor" as the first cuvée of the house Bouvet aged in wooden barrels.

In short, I’m both fascinated and inspired by his techniques and always immensely enjoy these bubbles.

I’ll leave it at that for now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I’m off to explore “new home”a bit more today

Cheers friends!
